Maharaja Jai Singh was the Maharaja of the princely state of Alwar, Rajasthan from 1892 to 1937. He was born in 1882 and died in the year of 1937. The only son of Sir Mangal Singh Prabhakar Bahadur. Maharaja Jai Singh initially was noted as brilliant, knowledgeable, and charming. However, he was later forced into exile. Here I will share an interesting incident about Maharaja Jai Singh Rolls Royce and sweet revenge.

He was educated in Mayo College, Ajmer. He was a highly regarded Indian English orator and scholar. He lived a lavish lifestyle and spent treasury money on hunting and palaces such as Sariska Palace (now a tiger reserve and hotel). He assisted the farming community with the construction of a number of dams for irrigation.

Rolls Royce is a luxury name in the world of four wheelers. The market has survived for more than a century as a symbol of nobility, ego, and majesty. The appeal to car lovers all over the world is increasing day by day that time. The company was also coming up with new models to meet the demand of the customers.

1920, The Maharaja of Alwar, Rajasthan in India was walking alone on the streets of London in a simple costume. He was Jai Singh. Suddenly he stopped walking as Eyes fell on the Rolls Royce show room. Immediately, he fell in love with the car. Without delay, he entered the show room to find out the price.

A salesman in the show room frowned at him with surprise. A very ordinary man, anyone can tell a poor Indian in one look! The salesman ridiculed Maharaja Jai Singh! Maharaja could recruit innumerable slaves like this, and isn’t it an insult to him? It didn’t take long time for self-esteem to hurt. But the car manufacturer did not even think that the hefty fee they have to pay.

He went back to the hotel. He instructed his men to go to the show room and inform them the king of Alwar,India is coming to buy Rolls Royce. The king went; he was greeted on the red carpet. Not one or two, he bought six cars at once! More surprises – six cars price was paid in cash. He even calculated the cost of sending all vehicles to India. Wondering what to pay for it, right?

He bought the car, but not to drive it for himself! When the vehicles arrived in the country, he ordered the municipal officials to use all the vehicles to pick up and drop off the garbage in the city. That’s right! Rolls Royce was used as a garbage carrying vehicle.

People were watching brands like Rolls Royce loaded with dirt and rubbish every day! Speaking of the king’s pride. It didn’t take long for this incident to become news around the world.

The misuse of Rolls Royals in bringing garbage was stopped. The company that used to make luxury cars was out of trouble. The wheel of the car running in the opposite direction also returned to the old track in a short time!
